B.B.C. News (That's the Brentwood Brewing Company News from Dave!)
We are finalists in the Essex Business Awards 2010 and the Essex Food & Drink Awards 2010. The two competitions have been running throughout the year, and we have become finalists in both! The Food & Drink was a voting system by members of the public, followed by the top runners in each category being visited and inspected! We obviously impressed them as we are now finalists - with the result being announced on 5th October.
We entered the Essex Business Excellence Awards 2010 and after a competitive application system we were visited by the award sponsors - Nat West - who were clearly impressed with our business model, and to see our growth since 2006 when Dave & Roland effectively started the Brewery in a garage! We now employ 7 staff and have a 25 Brewers Barrel plant, produce around 250 firkins per week, supplying around 100 pubs and off licences. Results of this competition are announced on 23rd September.
Talking of awards - we were very pleased to win Beer of the Festival with Summer Virgin at the Colchester CAMRA festival recently! They will be presenting us with the award at the Chappel Beer Festival, where we are having our own Bar for the first time.
We have upped our brewing schedule to 4 times per week to continue to meet demand. Things are generally looking very good at the BBC - what was that about a recession!!!
We recently hosted the 1st Finchingfield Beer Festival at the Three Tuns, Finchingfield and we are providing the Bar at the Cressing Temple Craft Fayre over the Bank Holiday weekend where we will be racking up a mini beer festival as well as some cider and wine.
We have 2 new draymen on board - Brad and Grant - both ex police officers so we feel our beer will safely reach its intended destination! Cheers Dave
